Shipping/Pick-up Policy

We will ship our puppies within the United States at the buyer's expense.  It usually costs between $250 and $350 depending on which airport we're shipping to.  This includes the airline charges, airline approved travel crate lined with absorbent bedding with attached food & water dishes that you get to keep, a puppy package, veterinary examination and health certificate, and letter of acclimation if necessary.  We allow our puppies to be shipped once they are 9-10 weeks of age.  Occasionally, we will keep them longer.  This is not intended to torment you.  We want to make absolutely certain that the puppy is able to handle the stress of being shipped.  This is very traumatic for them.  We would much rather have you pick up your new puppy in person.  But we do understand that this is not always possible.  We will work with you to try to find a flight that works with your schedule.  However, the puppy's best interest is our highest priority and we hope it is yours as well.  Occasionally there are delays in shipping due to inclement weather.  This is completely out of our control and we cannot "make" the airlines ship a puppy during these times.  Again, we would hope that you would not want your puppy shipped if it isn't safe to do so at that time.  We are not responsible for any injuries, illnesses or death that is the result of shipping.  We recommend you insure your dog or puppy prior to shipment.

We prefer for a new owner to pick up their puppy in person.  We allow our new puppies to be picked up at 8-9 weeks of age.  Although we do tend to get to know our buyers via emails and phone conversations, we always like to meet them in person - put a face to the voice.  This is also considerably less traumatic for the puppy.  If you live within a day's drive, we highly suggest you pick up the puppy rather than shipping him or her.  If you live too far to drive, you might consider a round trip flight for yourself.  You can bring the puppy back with you as a "carry on" item.  You do need to book it in advance since the airlines only allow a certain number of animals in the main passenger compartment per flight.  This way you will be able to calm and soothe your puppy before, during and after the flight to reduce the amount of stress he or she has to go through.  Ultimately, we hope you choose the method that is best for the puppy.  This may mean a little inconvenience for you or a little more money.  But in the long run, you will be happy that you did it.  And believe it or not, your bond with your new puppy will be even stronger.

Boarding Policy

We do, on occasion, keep a puppy for a limited amount of time for the new owners if they are unable to take him or her when ready.  This arrangement must be agreed upon by us in advance.  If you leave a deposit for a puppy and we do not hear from you again, you do not pick him or her up, or you do not acknowledge shipping arrangements for the puppy, he or she will be placed up for sale again and your deposit will be forfeited.  If we agree to board your puppy, there will be a weekly boarding fee charged per puppy for the feeding and care of him or her.  Any necessary vaccinations will be an additional charge.  We would REALLY prefer that you take your puppy when he or she is ready to go.  Puppies need to bond with their new owners and it is best to do this during their critical bonding period from 8-12 weeks of age.  Please keep this in mind when purchasing a puppy.

Please note that the boarding policy does not apply to puppies that we are in the process of shipping.  The time it takes to get the puppy into the vet and make arrangements for his or her flight is part of the shipping process and at no additional expense to the new owners.  Please contact us with any questions!
